Benefits

The main benefits associated with ECU remapping are increased power and torque, these can be demonstrated in many ways such as; improved drivability when towing trailers, maintaining peak torque when driving high demand equipment through the PTO and a prolonged peak torque curve. 

Resulting in jobs being completed quicker and more efficiently.

How does it work 

Modern fuel injection systems are controlled by an ECU, the ECU has software that has been programmed by the manufacturer to control sensors and actuators under a wide range of operating conditions. 

The manufacturers software is designed to meet many requirements. Some of these requirements may be geographical, for example the same model tractor will need to perform in varying altitudes and temperatures across the world. Due to this limitations are programmed into the engine ECU, many of which are not necessary for the UK.



Manufacturers have also been known to use software restrictions for marketing reasons, many machines produced will have the same hardware fitted with different power outputs.

With some careful software alterations the hidden potential can be released.

Step 1

Prior to carrying out any software alterations each machine undergoes a thorough check to ensure the health of the engine. This consists of a physical inspection of systems and components followed by diagnostic checks for fault codes and engine data parameters to ensure that all are within specification.

Step 2

After good health is confirmed the engine ECU software is extracted and modified based on your requirements. Parameters such as boost pressure, Injection quantity and torque request are recalibrated. This file is then applied to the engine ECU.

Step 3

Final testing is carried out to ensure the desired outcome is met, this process where possible is completed using our Dimsport PTO dyno where stock figures can be compared to the modified software.
